Mauria O’Brien, DVM, DACVECC, Emergency

Dr. Mauria O’Brien graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Her undergraduate degree in biology was received from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation from vet school, Dr. O’Brien did a combination of general practice and emergency medicine. After eight years of general practice, she did ER practice exclusively and completed a residency in Emergency and Critical Care medicine in 2008. She received board certification in ECC that same year. Dr. O’Brien was a clinical associate professor in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois from 2008 until 2017 when she joined the staff of Animal Emergency and Specialty Care.

Dr. O’Brien likes woodworking and gardening in her off time. Her family includes her husband, three children, four dogs, and two cats.
