Katharine E. Kiger, MVB, Emergency

Dr. Katharine Kiger grew up in Portland, Maine.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont, minoring in wildlife biology and studio art.  Dr. Kiger earned her veterinary degree from University College Dublin, Ireland, in 2016.  After two years in general practice, Dr. Kiger transitioned to emergency medicine exclusively, falling in love with both the pace and variety of cases and referrals seen in emergency centers across Maine.  She finds emergency medicine and critical care especially rewarding because it allows her to help animals when they need her the most.

Dr. Kiger lives in midcoast Maine with her three dogs and two cats.  She loves spending her free time in nature, camping, traveling the world, drawing/painting, and exploring Maine on her old motorcycle from the early ‘80s.

PVESC is proud to have Dr. Kiger on our Emergency and Critical Care Team.
