Eline Nijveldt, DVM, DACVIM, Cardiology

Accepting appointments starting September 1, 2025. Dr. Eline Nijveldt graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. After graduation, she completed a one-year internship at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Dr. Nijveldt then returned to the Ohio State University for a small animal internal medicine internship and then went on to complete her residency in cardiology and interventional medicine.

Dr. Nijveldt enjoys all aspects of veterinary cardiology but is particularly interested in managing congestive heart failure as well as young animals with congenital heart disease. She enjoys building relationships with her patients and her clients and ensuring that her clients are comfortable with monitoring and managing their pets’ heart disease. She has two dogs of her own at home, Oliver and Sandy. Oliver, she adopted when she first started veterinary school and Sandy was one of her patients when she first started residency. Sandy was brought to the Ohio State University by a local rescue for evaluation of a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), and Dr. Nijveldt fell in love. After fixing Sandy’s PDA with the rest of the team at Ohio State, Dr. Nijveldt and her husband welcomed Sandy into their home to join the family.

While she is not at work, Dr. Nijveldt enjoys spending time her two dogs and her husband. They are very excited to have moved to Maine and cannot wait to explore a new city and find new restaurants to love.
