Our Warren Ave. location hosts our 24/7 emergency department, and the specialties of Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Critical Care and more. Our Congress St. location hosts our Ophthalmology and Dermatology departments as well as our Medical Radio Therapeutic Department for Radioactive Iodine Therapy for Hyperthyroid Cats and Synovetin OA®. Our CSRs are an integral part of our practice, the first voice the client hears when they call to schedule an appointment, the last voice they hear as they are leaving. Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care is seeking two Emergency Client Coordinators to join our client and patient-focused multidisciplinary emergency and specialty practice. This is a newly developed position. PVESC is one of the largest, privately owned 24/7 hospitals in the northeast and includes the specialties of surgery (5), internal medicine (4), critical care (2), oncology (2), ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, anesthesiology, neurology, radiology, and radioactive iodine therapy. PVESC has grown exponentially and has earned a reputation of integrity, collaboration, and excellence in veterinary health care delivery.

The Emergency Client Coordinator is a liaison position in our busy emergency department, helping the criticalists, emergency clinicians, technicians, client service representatives and clients in many integral ways, such as support with triage, handling the majority of client communication, and discharging patients. The perfect candidate will have great organization skills, love computers, and be able to communicate kindly, compassionately and effectively with clients, referring veterinary hospitals, and staff. Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is required, technician knowledge is preferred, and strong customer service skills are important. This position is perfect for the experienced veterinary technician or assistant who is considering a change of pace. Generous sign on bonus commensurate with experience.

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) of Portland, ME is looking for an experienced licensed veterinary surgical technician to join our growing surgery department. Our surgical technicians are responsible for all aspects of surgical nursing, performing diagnostics, administering and monitoring anesthesia, maintaining treatments, admitting and discharging patients, surgical assisting, post-op care and recovery, and client customer service. Experience in anesthesia and surgery is preferred. We focus on high-quality, supportive, and personalized care for our clients and their pets. You will be able to utilize your skills to the fullest.

Our busy surgery department has four board-certified surgeons, specializing in soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and neurosurgery. We are a state-of-the-art facility with a 4 slice CT machine, digital radiology, two surgical suites, in-house laboratory suite, Pulse-Vet shockwave therapy, laser therapy, as well as advanced monitoring equipment.
